Tv Theme Songs Cd
65 TV Themes! From the 50's and 60's is the first volume of the Television's Greatest Hits series of compilation albums by TVT Records. From the 50's and 60's was a double LP that featured 65 themes from television shows ranging from the mid-1950s until the late 1960s.
The album catalog was later acquired by The Bicycle Music Company. In September 2011, Los Angeles-based Oglio Records announced they were releasing the Television's Greatest Hits song catalog after entering into an arrangement The Bicycle Music Company. A series of 9 initial "6-packs" including some of the songs from the album has been announced for 2011.
NOTE: An asterisk (*) designates a track that was re-recorded for either a later season of the TV show, a single/album by the theme song artist or this album. A double asterisk (**) denotes a track exclusive to the record and cassette versions only, and, except for the Japanese release on CBS/Sony, do not show up on any CD version.
But music, for the most part, is devoid of words. This is especially true of most TV theme songs. The melody of the song is a right-brain cue that is able to cut through all of the verbal clutter and send a clear, unmistakeable message.
Listed below are some suggestions to get you thinking about the possibilities. These theme songs can be found on the CD that comes with the book, Eight Great Ideas. (It's included with the book because one of the ideas in the book is about using music for management.)
Over the years, there have been plenty of compilations of television theme songs, but for scope, selection, and value, none beat Rhino's 2002 collection, TV Land Presents Favorite TV Theme Songs. Containing a generous 40 tracks, the disc runs the gamut from I Love Lucy to The Golden Girls (after the '80s, theme songs kind of faded away from network TV, replaced by jingles on Seinfeld and Frasier, though Friends, The Simpsons, The Sopranos, and Six Feet Under all had themes worthy of inclusion in a future volume of this kind), and it hits nearly all of the big, memorable themes, including The Twilight Zone, Bonanza, Batman, Star Trek, The Brady Bunch, "Movin' On Up," The Rockford Files, Barney Miller, Chico and the Man, "Theme from the Dukes of Hazzard," and "Theme from Greatest American Hero (Believe it or Not)," among others. Really, the only major theme missing is that from WKRP In Cincinnati, but given the number of tracks on this compilation, it's hard to carp about absences, particularly since the fidelity is about as good as it could be. This isn't the kind of collection that you'd listen to all that often, but it's nice to have it around whenever you need a fix of nostalgia.
Children's Favourite TV Songs is a children's theme tune CD release by Universal Music (UK) Ltd in 2004, which includes all of your favourite T.V. theme songs from HIT Entertainment's favourite T.V. programmes.
